The Iemanjá EP & Remix project: an homage to the Afro-Brazilian goddess of the sea. Tagarel & SiKa are two Brussels-based artists with a deep connection for Hip hop. They have harmonized in previous projects (e.g. Batunoza, Frades & SiKa’s « Etripage d’égo »), but they decided it wasn’t enough and created a duo (Tagarel flowing with words and vocals and SiKa with the beats and the mesmerizing sound skills). On their first mutual project they bring their musical sensitivities together to create a spontaneous, creative and artisanal musical mash-up. All tracks were elaborated, recorded and mixed at home base. Their innovative minds experimented with tapes and other vintage gears and effects. This duo was fortunate to link up with the great Ethiopian female singer Minyeshu on ''Lucifer'' and also the Belgian trumpet player Thadeus Jolie on ''Iemanjá''. The result is a 5 track EP and homage to Iemanjá; the Yoruba Goddess of the sea who is a key figure in Brazilian afro-culture and traditions. Every year thousands of Brazilian worshippers pay tribute to the Yoruba goddess. Especially to honour the godess on the 2nd of february, the duo linked up with 4 gifted producers (Turtle Master, Jan Paalhut and Dul from Belgium and Lou Piensa from Canada) to make a REMIX EP with 4 different remixes of the song 'Iemanjá'. A great and beautiful musical gift for all of yours! “Iemanjá Ep” & ''The remix project'' are sneak previews of the forthcoming album that will be released in the summer 2018.
